I have worn glasses since I was 18 and have worn them full time for the last 10 - 15 years. For me to buy glasses here in New Zealand its really expensive, I have progressive lenses with transition lenses , anti glare filters , and am long sighted in one eye and short sighted in the other with an astigmatism thrown in for good measure. The average cost of glasses here costs me between $900.00 to at least $1200.00.
Just recently I needed to get my glasses replaced and had the most gorgous frames, I looked in to finding out how much it would cost to switch out my lenses in these frames and was just appalled at how much it was going to cost. To just get the lenses replaced it was going to cost me a minimum of $400.00 up to just under $500.00 and that was going to 3 or 4 different places, some of them were were supposedly budget freindly outlets that are in most shopping malls.
...
It was far cheaper for me to just buy new glasses , My sister in law put me on to an american web site years ago which gives me great service and I get to it via www.glassesforless.co.nz
I love this companies service, it takes me about the same amount of time to order and receive my glasses as it does if I order them here , its at least 1/3 of the price of here and on the site it can give you pictures of different face shapes for all the different styles to see what works for you best. For me to get my prescription for these things ----progressive lenses with transition lenses , anti glare filters , and am long sighted in one eye and short sighted in the other with an astigmatism thrown in for good measure., and really nice frames---- it came to $198.00USD which was probably about $300.00NZD.
Which is such a great deal and thats why I keep going back to them, I have been using them for about 4-6 years now and will still be using them in years to come
